Hot Wheels 1931 Doozie – Final Run

I consider the lifespan of the Hot Wheels 1931 Doozie (also known as Duesenberg Model J) casting to be pretty decent. Originally this casting was released in 1977. It was painted orange, featured red line wheels, and was part of the Flying Colors series. This release was the only version of the 1931 Doozie to feature red lines. The majority of following releases rolled on BWs (black walls) and WWs (white walls). As a highlight, the 1931 Doozie was featured as part of the first Treasure Hunt series in 1995. In antique stores, I always seem to come across one version of this casting or another. The Toy Peddler has some up for sale right now – Hot Wheels 1931 Doozie.

Let’s fast forward 26 years. In 2003, Hot Wheels decided that the 1931 Doozie had run its course. The casting was released one final time, featured as #8 of the Final Run series.

The tool has been destroyed. Here are the final images of the Hot Wheels 1931 Doozie. (1977-2003)
