Oh the scalp was strong with the Hot Wheels Beatles Yellow Submarine Blue Meanie Kool Kombi… I’ve put my collecting on the back burner for the most part but being a Kombi fan when I saw the Blue Meanie Kool Kombi previewed, I wanted to add one to my collection.
I’m sure we all know by now that the Blue Meanie Kool Kombi was the ‘hoarded’ casting from the set. With the pictures posted online, I didn’t think I’d have much of a chance finding one in the wild.
A few days back, I was at a nearby Walmart and happened to walk past a bin FULL of the Beatles cars. To my surprise, by the shape of the cards it looks like it had been there for quite some time. With plenty of Blue Meanie Kool Kombis left, I grabbed 2 and went on my way. If you are interested the entire set consisted of 6 in total.

I must say that the quality of the tampos on the Kombi seem like they are done very well. As a customizer, I appreciate all the little details (headlight tampos for one). Well done to whomever designed the artwork for the Kombi. Bias aside, it’s my favorite from the entire Beatles set.
