Hot Wheels Kool Kombi – Red 2014 First To Market

I picked up this Hot Wheels Kool Kombi At Kdays on November 2nd. Seeing this is a hard casting to find in my neck of the woods, I couldn’t pass it up.

Originally released in 2013 the Hot Wheels Kool Kombi has been released in the mainline in green, orange, white, and now red.

The green version made an appearance in 2013 as a Toy Fair exclusive. It wore similar decoration as the mainline release except for the wheels being substituted with Real Riders, a metal base, and spectraflame green paint.

The Hot Wheels Kool Kombi has also been released as a Hot Wheels Collectors exclusive piece, limited to only 4000 pieces. This exclusive Kombi is decorated with M&M’S characters and painted spectraflame dark gold. It went on sale 10/29/2013 and sold out almost instantly. RLC members have a chance to buy first. I’m not in the RLC so I had no chance of getting this one. LOL

With its popularity, only one can speculate that this will eventually make an appearance as a $uper Treasure Hunt. Among customizers, this casting is rather popular. I have seen many well done custom versions of this casting.
