Matchbox Dodge A100 Pickup

Tonight, I stumbled across the Matchbox Dodge A100 Pickup. Well, I take that back. I stumbled across two, but purchased only one. I read about the Dodge A100 a few times online and figured that based upon it’s popularity alone, I would never see one in the stores. Thankfully, I was wrong.

When I was a child, the majority of my collection was Matchbox. In 1995 when I started collecting, I focused on Hot Wheels. I picked up a few Matchbox GTOs here and there. At that time, I was a HUGE GTO fan.

I don’t keep my eye on Matchbox for the most part. If the Hot Wheels are sparse, I’ll take a peek. There is no sense in me chasing AutoWorld, they simply are non-existent in my area. I was happy to find the Dodge A100 Pickup tonight.

Like many others out there, I am a fan of the A100. It looks like a car that you would see back in the day on the road. There are no crazy graphics, oversize wheels, or colored windows. The tampos that are on this casting are simple yet clean and positioned correctly. I think Matchbox did a great job on this casting. I find myself now regretting that I only bought this one. I would have liked to have had another one to detail. Oh well.
